Moms Trash turns babys room treasure

A while back I posted about working on a Shabby Chic baby shower for my sister.
BOO, she canceled it. Crazy lady, who cancels a baby shower. I mean comon' FREE stuff...
Anyways, with canceling the shower, that meant all my fun ideas were down the drain.
TOTAL BUMMED STATUS.
I still had a few projects that I had planned on working on for the baby's room.
I shared the nursery mobile a few days ago.
Last week or so I finished her window box.

Remember it here...

This was something my mom used to have hanging in our house when we were younger.
It has been in a few moves or so...so it needed a little work.

I mixed Green and White crafters paint to make a Mint Green Paint. Painted the Mint right on top of the previous paint. Allowed the paint to dry and lightly sanded down certain areas to look worn.
The mauve paint peeked through. I loved the way it turned out.

I found some pretty floral fabric at Joann's Fabrics and hot glued it to the back of the window.
Used some old pearls that were my moms and embellished a wooden "A"
that I picked up from Michael's.
Flowers are from Dollar Tree and vases are...PICKLE JARS!
Yes, I save all glass jars because you never know when they will come in handy.
I hot glued some more pearls around the rim to add just a bit of glam.

The paper doilies and paper roses were from the dollar section at Michales.
I just strung them together to form a banner.

My sister can use the jars for cotton balls, baby q-tips or Autumns hair clips.

This was a inexpensive project. I spent the most on the fabric, which was $6.99 a yard...
I only bought half a yard and still have enought to make something else.
Perhaps a cordinating picture or some rolled rosettes.

I also have some exciting news!
5:00pm TONIGHT my sister is going in to the hospital to be induced!
Hopefully by tomorrow evening there will be a new baby girl in the family.
I will share many photos of our hospital waiting adventure on Instagram...
